Manga is currently one of the most popular types of graphics novels among children and teenagers, so you may have already had students request more manga for the school or classroom library. There are numerous manga available, with more and more titles being released each month because of its growing popularity.

This article provides a brief history of manga, describing its historical beginning and its evolution to the mainstream pop culture phenomenon that it is today in both Japan and North America.
